Steve Panting operates Campbell River House and Hearth inspections as a sole proprietorship
and it is his only business in operation. He has been a member of the Canadian Association of
Home and Property Inspectors since 2002.
Steve is not affiliated with any home-improvement ventures, or affiliated with any insurance,
banking or real estate sales interests. Before the establishment of his home inspection firm, Steve
was engaged in the real estate appraisal industry both as a fee appraiser and as a municipal
assessment officer. Steve has also spent many years as a land surveyor and has participated in
numerous civil engineering projects. He was educated at Seneca College in Toronto and
graduated from the three-year Civil Engineering Technologist program.
In 2006, Steve completed the British Columbia Institute of Technology Building Code course and
found it extremely valuable and applicable to existing housing. Other specialized courses taken in
recent years include electrical inspections and also several courses dealing specifically with
ventilation and mold issues.
